Road-trip-tychs is a six-piece handwoven tapestry series inspired by sunsets and memories shared on the road. Each 12” composition is hand-dyed and hand-woven, capturing the skies that colored my journeys between home in New Jersey and school in Savannah, Georgia. What began as difficult drives on my own eventually became treasured adventures shared with my boyfriend — eight trips marking the start and end of a new semester. These woven pieces honor the memories we made, the care we gave each other along the way, and the quiet, luminous moments spent watching clouds drift and colors shift across the sky.

Creative Process

- Warp: fingering weight cotton fiber hand painted with reactive dyes
- Weft: fingering weight wool and mohair fibers hand-dyed with acid dyes
- Plain tabby weave, tapestry techniques, rya knots, crochet
